When a child is diagnosed with cancer, everyday life doesn’t just stop. Bills still arrive, and parents have to balance work with appointments, groceries, transportation, and everything else that keeps a household running smoothly, even as their world feels like it’s falling apart. That’s where the Child Cancer Fund steps in. The organization provides support for families so they don’t have to carry the whole burden alone.
In service of that mission, on August 22, 2026, Chuck Farah turned his regular hour on Legal Live, the firm’s weekly call-in radio show, into a special broadcast for the Jacksonville community. He welcomed children and their parents into the Farah & Farah Performance Studio, where they shared their experiences with childhood cancer.
The WOKV Care-a-Thon Brings Northeast Florida Together
Chuck’s special Legal Live broadcast was part of the 12th Annual WOKV Care-a-Thon presented by Duval Asphalt, held August 21–22, 2026. Farah & Farah is proud to have served as a sponsor of the two-day radiothon, which reached audiences across eight North Florida radio stations and three television stations, bringing together more than one million listeners and thousands of additional supporters.
Over its first 11 years, the Care-a-Thon raised more than $2.4 million for Child Cancer Fund programs and families. That support matters in a region where around 300 children are currently receiving cancer treatment and an average of 120 are diagnosed each year.
Jacksonville Families Share Their Childhood Cancer Stories
During the special Legal Live Care-a-Thon broadcast, children and their parents shared what their lives were like both during and after cancer treatment. Five-year-old Lily showed off her Spider-Man moves, while nine-year-old Remy talked about ringing the bell after completing treatment. Their parents described how the Child Cancer Fund reached out during some of their most difficult moments and continued supporting them even beyond treatment. After learning that Remy dreamed of seeing Olivia Rodrigo, Chuck surprised her by promising to help her family attend an upcoming concert in Orlando.
Farah & Farah Matched Child Cancer Fund Donations
During the special Legal Live broadcast, Farah & Farah matched donations up to $3,500. Chuck Farah encouraged listeners to give whatever they could, reminding them that even a small donation could still make a meaningful difference for Jacksonville children and their families.
Chuck then made an additional personal donation of $15,000 to the Child Cancer Fund. Explaining why he chose to give, he said, “It’s not like you’re donating something and you don’t know where it’s going to go. You know exactly where this is going to go, and that means something.”
Supporting Jacksonville Families Beyond the WOKV Care-a-Thon
Chuck ended the special hour of Legal Live by thanking the families and volunteers who joined him on the show, along with the event sponsors and the listeners who made the Care-a-Thon possible. “Today is bringing hope to everybody,” he said. “We’re all together, and you’re not alone. You’ve got a community behind you.”
