One of the most common questions we’re asked is, “Is the free consultation really free?” Well, we can answer that one right up front–absolutely. Here, we’ll walk you through step-by-step what you can expect from our team the moment you contact us whenever you have a legal issue.
We sat down with Khalil Farah to get the inside scoop on how the process works and tips for getting the most out of your free consultation.
What Is a Free Consultation With an Attorney?
From the very moment you contact Farah & Farah, we’ll be evaluating your case to see what options may be available to you. Our team will look at every possible avenue to seek a recovery and start the process by asking questions about what happened.
During your free consultation, we’ll cover things like:
The Nature of Your Legal Issue
Whether it’s a car accident, a workers’ compensation claim, social security disability, or another legal concern you may have, we work as quickly as possible to help get the ball rolling. As we learn more about your case, we get you assigned to the right practice area.
The Details of the Incident
To help us move forward, we need to record a few key details, like when and where the event happened, who may have been involved, and any injuries or damages you or your family members may have sustained.
Your Insurance Information
We’ll ask about any auto, health, or other relevant insurance policies you may have in place that might cover the accident to help us determine the next steps.
Setting Expectations
Our team is all about transparency, and we’ll work to help set expectations around the legal process and how long the process may take, depending on the nature of your case.
Referrals if Necessary
While Farah & Farah handles many different case types, from auto injuries and slip and falls to hurricane damage and defective products, we aren’t able to assist in every situation. If that happens, we maintain a rich referral network to help steer you in the right direction.
Securing Your Representation With Farah & Farah
Our team has streamlined the process to make it as easy and efficient as possible. If we’re able to take your case, we’ll send an agreement right away to help secure our representation of you and get your case assigned to your attorney. Your assigned attorney will receive a full case file with all the information we gathered above so they can hit the ground running.
“We work to maximize the value of your case from day one,” Khalil explains. “We use the information gathered during your initial consultation to look at every possible avenue to secure maximum recovery under the law.”
Free Consultation FAQs
What information should I gather before the consultation?
Our intake team is trained to help uncover the facts of the incident and determine the next steps, so you don’t have to gather any information before calling us. It can be helpful if you have insurance information, police reports, and other information related to the incident, but nothing is required for us to help assess your case.
What kind of questions will the attorney ask me?
As every case is different, this depends on the nature of your case. In general, your attorney will need to know the “who, what, where, and when” of your incident. For example, if you were involved in an automobile accident, they may ask how the crash occurred and if any drivers were issued a traffic citation.
What happens if I’m hurt when I call?
If you’re still at the scene of the accident and injured, your first priority is seeking medical attention. Dial 911 and wait for emergency services to arrive. If it’s a car accident and you’re not too injured to do so, Florida law requires you to move your vehicle to the side of the road or another safe location.
After dialing 911 and getting emergency services to your location, and only if it’s safe to do so, you can take actions like getting pictures and videos to help document the scene, obtaining a police report, and contacting your insurance carrier. If you have any questions, you can always contact our team for assistance. See this article for additional steps to take after a car accident.
What happens if I don’t have insurance?
No matter what, if you’re hurt after an accident, you should seek medical attention. Even if you don’t feel you were hurt badly or are worried about medical bills, your health is the top priority. If additional treatment is required after calling us, our intake team can still help get you to a physician specializing in your type of injury.
