Meet Lowell Fitts

Lowell Fitts is a personal injury attorney in Farah & Farah’s Atlanta office who combines years of litigation experience with a strong sense of fairness and client advocacy. With a background that spans insurance defense, plaintiff-side litigation, and even information technology, Lowell brings a practical, analytical mindset to every case he handles. He is known for taking on difficult cases, communicating clearly with clients, and approaching every matter with persistence, preparation, and purpose.

From Information Technology to Georgia Law

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and law was always somewhere in the background of my life because my father was an attorney. Even so, my career path did not begin in a courtroom. Before becoming a lawyer, I spent several years working in information technology.  While I enjoyed the technical side of the work, I eventually realized something important. If I did a great job in IT, the computers worked better. If I did a great job as a lawyer, I could make a real impact on someone’s life. That realization stayed with me and ultimately pushed me toward law school.

After finishing law school in 2011, I moved to Atlanta, where I began building my legal career. My background in technology still influences how I approach legal work today. It taught me how to solve problems systematically, pay attention to detail, and break down complicated concepts into something people can actually understand.

Building Experience on Both Sides of the Courtroom

My legal career began in insurance defense and complex litigation roles, experiences that gave me firsthand insight into how insurance companies evaluate claims, manage risk, and build their defense strategies. Today, I use that knowledge to anticipate challenges, push back against unfair tactics, and advocate more effectively for injured clients.

During this time, I also dedicated significant energy to pro bono service, which provided a different kind of fulfillment. I represented victims of human trafficking in complex immigration matters and worked with Legal Aid to advocate for those who otherwise would not have had a voice in the legal system

These experiences reinforced a growing realization that I wanted my work to feel more personal and meaningful on a daily basis. I wanted to interact directly with clients, spend time in the courtroom, and know that the outcome of a case could genuinely improve someone’s life. This led me to plaintiff-side personal injury work, where I have spent the last several years representing injured individuals throughout Georgia.

Why I Choose To Fight for Injured People

One of the biggest reasons I will never go back to defense work is simple. The stakes feel entirely different. When an insurance company wins a case, it protects its bottom line. When an injured person wins a case, they may finally have the ability to pay medical bills, support their family, or move forward after a devastating event. That difference matters to me.

A lot of the clients I represent are people who feel overwhelmed, unheard, or outmatched by companies and systems that hold far more power than they do. I take those cases personally because I believe people deserve to have someone willing to stand up for them, especially when others may have already told them they do not have a case. Some of the cases that matter most are the ones other attorneys are unwilling to pursue, and I believe those clients deserve an advocate just as much as anyone else.

Fighting for Clients Others Turned Away

One case that has stayed with me was in premises liability. It involved a man who had lost his finger while working in a rehabilitation program woodshop. Before coming to me, three other firms had already turned him away because he had signed a liability waiver. After looking deeper into the situation, it became clear there had been serious safety issues. The facility had vulnerable individuals operating dangerous equipment without proper safeguards or adequate training. The machinery itself was unsafe, and it was only a matter of time before someone else was seriously hurt by the same dangerous conditions.

I secured a meaningful recovery for the client and forced changes at the woodshop that improved safety conditions so no one else could get hurt. What mattered most to me was not only helping my client recover the compensation he needed to move forward, but also making sure the situation was taken seriously before someone else was injured. Cases like this reinforce why I do this work. Sometimes people simply need someone willing to push further and ask harder questions on their behalf.

A Trial Mindset Grounded in Justice and Communication

Throughout my career, I have learned that one of the most important parts of representing a client is making sure that they genuinely feel heard. People often come to us during some of the most stressful and uncertain moments of their lives, and they need more than legal paperwork handled behind the scenes. They need someone who listens, clearly explains what’s happening, and helps them feel empowered throughout the whole process.

I believe one of my greatest strengths as an attorney is communication. Whether I am speaking with a client, negotiating with opposing counsel, or presenting arguments in front of a judge or jury, I focus on translating complicated legal issues into clear, understandable language. Good advocacy is not about talking over people. It’s about helping people understand what’s happening and giving them confidence that someone is truly fighting for them.

Why I Chose Farah & Farah

Joining Farah & Farah felt like the right next step because of the firm’s commitment to putting clients first and its growing presence in Georgia, which has become home for me over the years. What stood out immediately was the firm’s focus on communication and client care. Clients are not treated like numbers here, and there is a real emphasis on staying connected with the people we represent rather than relying entirely on systems or technology to manage relationships.

I also appreciate the structure and resources the firm provides. Farah & Farah has built a strong community that allows attorneys to focus on what matters most: fighting effectively for clients and pushing cases forward with purpose.

Life in Atlanta and Inman Park

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my wife and our English Bulldog. We enjoy spending time together unwinding after work. I also play acoustic guitar and remain a devoted Cleveland Browns fan, which I sometimes joke has taught me patience, persistence, and emotional resilience over the years.

Having lived in Atlanta for over a decade, I especially enjoy spending time around Little Five Points and the surrounding Inman Park area. The neighborhood’s creative, eclectic atmosphere has become an important part of what makes Atlanta feel like home.
