For Florida, you don’t receive your first workers’ compensation check until you’re out in excess of 21 days based upon the restrictions from your authorized doctor that the insurance company provides you and then your check will be mailed to you from the insurance company. You’re entitled to your first workers’ compensation check after you’ve been placed on a light duty or no work restriction from an authorized doctor that the insurance company pays for and you miss more than 21 days from work and the workers’ compensation carrier will send you your check directly.
