Overcoming Challenges in a West Palm Beach Workers’ Comp Case

I had a West Palm Beach case which was one of the most difficult cases I’ve ever had in my career. It was a migrant farm worker who ultimately had a heart attack on a ladder picking fruit. The employer had violated many OSHA regulations and it was the heat of the summer. They didn’t never checked on him the whole day. Experts basically testified that had they gotten to him within 30 or 40 minutes of this initial heart attack, his life could have been saved and he actually had passed away.

So, the family had contacted me. We were able to reach them a confidential settlement. When they approached me, I was the sixth lawyer that was asked to take the case and nobody else was willing to do it. So, we kind of went the OSHA violation route and kind of press that a little bit and to help bring forth some extra pressure to get some resolution for them.
