I was born and raised in Jacksonville. I’m a native of Jacksonville. Uh, went to elementary school here at Northshore Elementary and ended up at Bishop Kenny High School where I graduated. And I went to University of Florida. Then I went to law school at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and I came back here and I’ve been here ever since. This is just something I’ve always wanted to do. Um, I’ve always loved the law, I’ve loved the nuances of the law.
There’s a human element, the humanity of the law, and that fact that the law gives dignity and respect to everybody no matter who you are. And to me, that’s very important and that’s really the basis of what this country is all about is that everybody deserves dignity and respect and that everybody should be treated equally no matter what their economic or social position is. Once you step foot in the USA, you have the equal rights as every other citizen in our civil justice system. Nobody can take advantage of you in a car accident or a slip and fall or a medical malpractice case just because of where you came from or your status. And to me, that’s very that’s a big deal and that’s the beauty of our Constitution.
