In personal injury law, we’re assisting accident victims and their families through some of the most challenging times they’ll likely ever face. That’s why the local leadership of a managing attorney is critical. A managing attorney must navigate complex legal issues while serving as a mentor for their team. They need to consider how to strategically grow a legal office while remaining deeply connected to the community it serves. For us, leadership is more than results; it’s in the day-to-day impact we have on both our clients and our colleagues.
We are immensely proud of our Orlando Managing Attorney, Ricky Favors, who was just named one of the Most Influential Leaders in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal (OBJ). Ricky leads from the front, putting a commitment to doing his best work at the forefront of his priorities, and that’s utterly transformed everyone he comes into contact with.
What Is the Orlando Business Journal’s Most Influential Leaders Recognition?
As far as Orlando business awards go, the OBJ’s Most Influential Leaders award stands near the top. This elite recognition seeks out individuals across Central Florida who are actively shaping the future of the region. Those selected are absolute powerhouses in their respective industries, but the recognition focuses on more than just revenue generated or professional accomplishments.
The 2025 honorees are leaders who drive positive change and impact both economically and civically in Greater Orlando. They include presidents, CEOs, and key executives from Central Florida’s top sectors, such as the President of Universal Orlando Resort, the CEO of Westgate Resorts, the President of Nemours Children’s Health, and financial and public sector leaders.
For Ricky Favors to be recognized among such a diverse and influential group of movers and shakers showcases his impact not just as a leading Orlando lawyer but also as a driving force in the economic and civic health of the greater Orlando area.
“Orlando Business Journal’s Most Influential Leaders feature and subsequent event recognize that running a business includes not only the ability to build revenue and relationships, but the many other intangibles which define what it means to go from good to great,” Richard Bilbao, Editor-in-Chief, Orlando Business Journal, explains.
How Ricky Is Driving Strategic Growth in Central Florida
Ricky Favors is an all-American success story of someone who began in an entry-level legal role and decided to work their tail off every day to get where they wanted to be. Funny thing is, that experience isn’t abnormal at our firm. We have numerous attorneys who began as legal assistants or case managers and have since worked their way up to practicing attorneys. In Ricky’s case, he continued to progress and found himself taking the helm of one of our most visible offices outside of our firm’s flagship Jacksonville location.
“When I started with the firm in 2011 as a case manager for Eddie, they invested in me. Now, I’m happy to be able to invest in others at the firm too,” says Favors. “That support, that belief in our team, is what truly enables us to fight the Farah Fight for our clients.”
Since taking over as the managing attorney for Farah & Farah in Orlando, Ricky has been instrumental in leading strategic growth for the firm. No doubt, Orlando is a tough market to grow a law firm in; there’s plenty of competition, and yet Ricky has been immensely successful in bringing the Farah Fight to Orlando and convincing countless individuals to put their trust in our team to get the job done.
Under Ricky’s leadership, our Orlando office has nearly doubled in size in the past two years, expanding to a staff of more than 45 legal professionals across three different floors in our offices off North Magnolia Avenue. Not content to stay stagnant, Ricky has also taken on the role of managing an additional 11 offices across Central and South Florida, including Tampa, Fort Myers, and West Palm Beach.
How Legal Leadership Translates to Client (and Community) Success
Beyond his team’s long list of case wins for clients in Orlando, Ricky’s motivation is simple: helping people, 1000%. He’s been involved with local charities like United Against Poverty (UP Center), the Orlando Rescue Mission, and numerous Farah & Farah community initiatives throughout the year.
“Ricky’s leadership is about more than just the healthy revenue or corporate growth,” said Eddie Farah, Founding Partner of Farah & Farah. “While those things are important in a business, what really transforms Ricky from good to great is his character and his unwavering motivation to help people, which aligns perfectly with the core values we built this firm on. I couldn’t be prouder to see Ricky earn this well-deserved recognition.“
