Guardrail Pierces Lexus in Tampa Crash

Posted on November 4, 2011

A woman driving a Lexus is lucky to be alive after a guardrail pierced her vehicle in a traffic accident in Tampa. The woman was involved in a crash at the Armenia and Howard Street exit off Interstate 275. There is not much information on the initial crash in this story from Fox 13, but the accident occurred when the woman lost control of her car, hit a taxi, and then hit the guardrail. The large piece of metal went into the Lexus’ engine and through the center of the car, exiting the trunk.

The female driver went to Tampa General Hospital suffering from an unnamed trauma. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, according to investigators.

Let’s all pray that this woman pulls through the traumatic injuries she suffered.

Liability Issues

This is a case where an experienced Tampa auto accident attorney may prove invaluable. How was the guardrail positioned in such a way as to pierce a vehicle? Had it been left in a dangerous position from a previous crash? Was it moved during road construction and not put back in the proper place?

Regardless, a personal injury law firm can determine why the danger was present and whether the city or some other entity is liable. Imagine if there had been a number of children sitting in the back seat? This story might have had a very different ending.
