Becoming the Kind of Advocate Clients Can Trust
What drew me to law was the chance to advocate for people who need support and guidance. I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology from Florida State University in just three years before receiving my law degree from St. Thomas Law. Even before I understood exactly what my legal career would look like, I knew I wanted to work with people and help them through hard moments. Psychology was my starting point, but law became the clearest path to helping others.
When I look back now, I realize that the core of my work, which connects everything I have done regardless of the practice area, is advocacy. Even early on, I was motivated by the idea that my clients would need someone who spoke clearly, stayed steady for them, and pushed for what was right. Over time, that drive has shaped every part of my work.
Early Career Experience That Built My Foundation
After law school, I began my career with a sole practitioner in Fort Lauderdale handling family law. It was hands-on from the start, and I learned quickly how much preparation, focus, and calm communication matter when people are going through something personal and high-stakes. This experience shaped how I practice today. Clients need more than legal knowledge; they need someone who will listen, tell the truth, and stay present with them through the process.
Later, after relocating to the Melbourne area, I built my own practice. Establishing a firm from the ground up taught me to manage cases with urgency and care while staying accessible to the people I represented.
Why Workers’ Compensation Became a Natural Fit
My workers’ compensation experience began when a firm I worked with later needed someone to step into that role. Although I didn’t choose the field intentionally, I found that the work aligned with what I’ve always valued, which is advocating for people who feel overwhelmed and unsure of what comes next.
Most of my clients were there because an injury changed their life in an instant. Many were trying to juggle medical treatment, work restrictions, and financial stress, all at the same time. I believe injured workers deserve an advocate who will explain the system plainly, protect their rights, and help them make informed decisions at every stage.
How I Serve My Clients
My greatest strength as an attorney is personal connection. I never want anyone to feel like they are just a number or a file to me. Clients often come to me during one of the most stressful periods of their lives, injured, uncertain, and worried about what comes next. For this reason, communication matters just as much as legal strategy. I take pride in being approachable, responsive, and steady throughout the process. My goal is to make every client feel supported, respected, and heard while keeping their case moving forward with purpose. I treat every client with the same care and respect I would want for my own family.
Just as important is honesty. From the first phone call, I make it clear that I will always be direct and transparent. I never exaggerate outcomes or sugarcoat the difficult parts. I explain the workers’ compensation system the same way I would explain it to someone I love: clearly and honestly. I believe clients deserve the truth about what the system can and cannot do, because clear expectations help people feel less afraid and more in control of their situation.
Pursuing Advocacy at Farah & Farah
I was drawn to Farah & Farah because the firm’s culture supports the way I’ve always practiced. The structure and support system allow me to stay focused on clients. Just as importantly, the firm’s family-oriented environment matches how I approach representation. I believe clients should feel cared for, respected, and treated like people, not transactions.
Family, Community, and Ballroom Dancing
Outside of work, my life centers on family and community involvement. I’ve spent years involved in local philanthropy and fundraising efforts, and giving back remains important to me. I love cooking, especially Italian food, and over time, that passion has become part of my philanthropy. I prepare big Italian dinners that are auctioned for local causes, and I am known for the kind of meals that bring people together.
I’ve also discovered a love of ballroom dancing, which has become a meaningful way to recharge and make time to step away from the pace of daily responsibilities When I want something simple, my favorite place to unwind is at home on the river, or spending time in downtown Melbourne for dinner and a walk through the area that keeps me connected to my earliest years building a life here.
