Najwa Beydoun is a personal injury attorney at Farah & Farah’s Tampa office who brings empathy and a deep commitment to helping others into every case she handles. Known for her happy and fun-loving personality, Najwa approaches each client with genuine care, making sure they feel supported from their first conversation to the resolution of their case.
Her path to law began in the medical field, where she earned her undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences at the University of South Florida. Initially planning to become a doctor, Najwa spent years volunteering in hospitals and shadowing physicians. But over time, she saw how hospital policies — often shaped by legal rules — could prevent doctors from delivering the care they wanted to provide. This realization inspired her to change course and pursue law as a way to help people in a different, but equally meaningful, way.
Changing My Path and Finding My Purpose
I’ll be the first to admit my path to becoming a lawyer hasn’t been straightforward. I wanted to be a doctor my entire life. When I started volunteering in hospitals, I saw firsthand how many medical decisions were shaped, and sometimes limited, by legal policies. I remember thinking, If I really want to help people, maybe I need to change those policies instead of just working around them. That’s when I decided to pursue law.
Bringing a Scientific Mindset to Legal Practice
Transitioning from a science-heavy background to law school wasn’t easy. In biomedical sciences, there’s always one right answer, found by following evidence, data, and methodical analysis. In law, the first thing you learn is that the answer is often, “It depends.” Adjusting to that mindset was a challenge for me, but I’ve found that my scientific training actually strengthens my legal practice. I approach each case like a research problem — gathering facts, analyzing details, identifying variables, and methodically building toward the strongest conclusion. That blend of evidence-based reasoning and legal flexibility helps me think critically, spot connections others might miss, and craft creative strategies for my clients.
My Legal Journey
I have been practicing law for about a year, but my path here was a bit complicated. I first planned to move to New York, so I took and passed the New York Bar. When my plans changed and I stayed in Florida, I worked with the Department of Children and Families doing legal work for the Department under the supervision of licensed Florida attorneys. Even though I was not yet licensed to practice in Florida independently, this helped me keep my legal skills sharp and client-focused.
Why Personal Injury Law
Joining Farah & Farah gave me the chance to focus on personal injury law. While my original interest leaned toward combining science and law, I’m excited to be directly helping clients when they are facing overwhelming challenges.
I often think about a case I worked on that involved a mother whose daughter was struck by a car while in her stroller. The family was dealing with severe PTSD, but couldn’t find a therapist who spoke their language. I made it my mission to connect them with the right resources. Seeing her relief reminded me exactly why I chose this profession.
The Farah & Farah Family Difference
I value the unique balance Farah & Farah offers. Farah is a large firm paired with the closeness of a family-owned practice. Eddie and Chuck are approachable and genuinely connected to everyone here. That sense of connection flows directly into how we care for our clients.
More Than Just a Lawyer
My attorney “superpower” is empathy. I don’t just listen to my clients, but also work to understand their perspectives and share in their concerns so they know they are not facing them alone. This drives me to fight as if their battles were my own.
I believe the best advocacy comes from connection. I am fluent in Arabic, which allows me to serve and connect with Florida’s Arabic-speaking community in a meaningful way. This has shown me how powerful it is to speak to clients in their own language, which is why I would love to master Spanish. Being able to communicate directly with even more people in Florida’s large Hispanic community would help me break down barriers and build trust from the very first conversation.
Staying Active and Enjoying My Tampa Community
Outside the office, I recharge by staying active and embracing the things I love most. You might find me chasing a soccer ball on the field, cheering for the Tampa Bay Lightning, or settling in for a Liverpool match on a Saturday morning. My fiancé, our spirited German Shepherd, and I often wander through Water Street in downtown Tampa, enjoying the scents of different foods and drinks that are unique to the area. Despite all the tasty treats on Water Street, if I could choose my favorite food, it would have to be my mom’s homemade grape leaves. Every time I taste them, it brings me back to my roots and reminds me of the comfort of family.
