Meet Mark Stewart

Mark Stewart is a pre-litigation personal injury attorney in Farah & Farah’s Atlanta office who approaches each claim with a mediator’s mindset and a steady commitment to client communication. He focuses on negotiating claims with care, thoughtfully balancing competing priorities while staying grounded in his duty to the people he represents.

Finding My Path as a Personal Injury Attorney

My first exposure to the legal world came early. My mom worked as a paralegal, and I remember being in her office when I was young. Even before I knew what I wanted to do, that environment stayed with me.

In school, I gravitated toward reading and writing, and over time, I began to look for a career where clear communication, organization, and critical thinking could genuinely make a difference for people. During college, my cousin encouraged me to consider law. He believed I would be good at it, and seeing his success in the field made the path feel real and achievable. I knew I wanted a profession that matched my strengths and gave me a clear way to build a meaningful career. Law felt like the right fit.

The Experience That Shaped My Plaintiff-Side Perspective

I got my start in the legal field through clerkships, and my first position was at a small firm handling immigration and criminal matters. It was a strong introduction to client-centered work, and it taught me a lot early on. I later spent a short time at a defense firm as a paralegal before passing the bar, but I knew I ultimately wanted to be on the side of the person who was hurt, advocating for individuals.

When I moved on to plaintiff’s personal injury practice, the work immediately felt more aligned with why I wanted to be in law in the first place. I saw how much clients needed steady guidance after something unexpected, and I liked being able to use my skills to help people through a difficult moment.

Guiding Personal Injury Claims Through Negotiation

I think of my role as a form of mediation. In a personal injury case, there are multiple interests in play, and part of effective negotiation is being able to communicate well with everyone involved. My loyalty is to my client, but I also believe you help clients by negotiating in good faith and maintaining professionalism with opposing counsel and insurance adjusters. Being direct, steady, and pleasant can give the case its best chance at a good resolution.

I also see this work as counseling in the truest sense. People are often dealing with stress and uncertainty. They need someone who can listen, explain what is happening, and help them feel supported while the case moves forward. In every personal injury case, I work to be a steady point of contact for my clients. I listen to what they are dealing with, explain each step in clear terms, and make sure they feel supported and informed as the case moves forward.

Client Trust and Why This Work Matters

I try to bring a sense of responsibility to this work that comes from how I was raised. My family invested a lot in me and supported me in ways I do not take lightly. For me, building a career in personal injury law is one way to honor that support. It means showing up prepared, treating people with patience and respect, and taking seriously the trust clients place in us when they turn to Farah & Farah for help.

That mindset is also what keeps me motivated day to day. I want clients to feel like they have someone in their corner who is steady and attentive, and I want the people closest to me to be proud of the way I use my skills to serve others.

One of the most memorable personal injury cases I worked on involved an older client who had already overcome significant challenges in her life and was then seriously injured in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. After her accident, she stayed remarkably kind and thoughtful through a process that would have worn most people down. What I remember most is how much trust she placed in our team and how personally she took the relationship.

We were able to achieve a strong result for her, and when it was over, she came by the office with homemade muscadine jam to thank us. That moment stuck with me because it captured the human side of this work and why it matters.

Why Farah & Farah Feels Like the Right Fit

I joined Farah & Farah because I wanted to focus on pre-litigation personal injury work. I enjoy being in the pre-suit space where I can negotiate claims, communicate directly with clients, and help guide the case toward resolution. That includes staying close to the details, checking in on how treatment is progressing, and making sure the client has the best opportunity to settle their case.

Farah & Farah stood out to me as a place where I wanted to build my career because it pairs real resources with a people-first culture. In personal injury work, clients need more than legal work taken care of in the background. They need a team that can move with urgency, communicate clearly, and stay organized from the very beginning. The structure here supports that. With the right staff support and internal systems in place, I can stay focused on what matters most for the people we represent. I can keep a close eye on the details, stay responsive to client needs, and push the case forward with purpose.

What I appreciate just as much is the way the firm carries itself. Even with its size, Farah & Farah feels team-oriented and approachable. Expectations are clear, support is real, and there is a shared standard for doing things the right way. That combination of professionalism, structure, and genuine commitment to clients is what drew me here, and it is what I am proud to be part of.

Weekends in the North Georgia Mountains and Alabama Football

Outside of work, I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend. We enjoy day trips to the North Georgia mountains, grabbing food from Waffle House, watching movies, and cooking at home. When we stay in the city, one of my favorite places to go is Ponce City Market on the Beltline, with its mix of restaurants and a rooftop space that makes it an easy place to spend an afternoon.

During football season, I make regular trips back to Alabama to see family and go to games. My dad is from Tuscaloosa, and I became an Alabama fan through him before attending school there myself. Living in Atlanta means the Georgia and Alabama rivalry is always close by, but for me, it is mostly good-natured banter with friends and coworkers.
