Meet Kathrine Carrasquillo

Kathrine Carrasquillo is a personal injury attorney in Farah & Farah’s Brunswick, Georgia office. With experience handling catastrophic injury matters, she is known for meeting people with empathy, reading what they need in the moment, and becoming a steady guide when everything feels uncertain.

Coming Back to Brunswick

I have lived in Brunswick since I was a child, so returning home to practice law feels meaningful. After spending several years away, the chance to come back opened at the right time, and I chose to take it. Working from the Brunswick office has been a great fit. It’s a smaller team with a warm, welcoming feel. Farah & Farah has the resources and reach of a large firm, while still offering the close, supportive feel of a smaller office. From the beginning, the team made my transition seamless.

Building My Foundation Through School and Early Experience

I have always known I wanted to be a lawyer. It is something I said as a kid and never stopped saying. I grew up competitive and outspoken, and I heard plenty of comments along the way about how I would make a great lawyer. For me, there was never a season of debating other paths. This has always been what I wanted to do.

After earning my undergraduate degree in Brunswick, I spent a couple of years working before heading to law school at Mercer University. During that time, I worked for a local attorney and got my first real exposure to personal injury work. That early experience gave me a foundation I genuinely enjoyed, and it stayed with me as I moved through law school and into practice.

Personal Injury Work That Keeps Me Grounded

My legal career has centered on personal injury. Before joining Farah & Farah, I worked at a firm that focused on catastrophic injury cases, such as amputations, wrongful deaths, and severe chemical burns. My clients were people whose lives had been permanently changed. That reality really stays with you.

When the opportunity opened in Brunswick, it felt like the right next step professionally and personally. It allowed me to continue building on the work I care about while returning home and becoming part of a team that feels welcoming and connected.

The Moments That Remind Me Why I Do This

There are two cases that really remind me why I do what I do. These two stand out to me for very different reasons.

In the first case, I represented a woman in her 50s who was legally crossing the street to work early in the morning when a transit bus ran her over. She went under the bus and lost her leg. Her life changed immediately, including what it meant to live in her own home. We resolved the case in mediation, resulting in a multi-million-dollar settlement. What stayed with me was her humility and clarity. She wanted accountability, but she did not want the case to consume her life. She reminded me that this work is not about what a lawyer wants. It is about giving the client informed options and respecting the decisions they make for their own future.

The other was a smaller case on paper, but it was a huge outcome for the client. It was a rear-end collision, and we resolved the matter just shy of $100,000. I chose to deliver her settlement check in person. When I handed it to her, she became emotional and shared how much the result would mean for her family and her sense of stability moving forward. That moment has stayed with me because it is a reminder that results are personal. What feels routine in this job can change someone’s life in a very real way.

Reading the Room and Meeting People Where They Are

What makes me stand out as an attorney is my ability to read the room. I pay close attention to what people need, including the things they don’t always say out loud. That helps me adjust not only how I explain the legal process, but also how I support someone emotionally when they are overwhelmed or unsure of what comes next. I try to lead with empathy and steady communication so clients feel understood, informed, and supported from the first conversation all the way through resolution.

I love people. Everyone has their own story, and no case is truly the same. In personal injury work, clients often come to us overwhelmed. Insurance calls start coming, decisions pile up, and nothing feels normal. I see my role as being a foundation for them. While everything else feels like chaos, I want to be the person who can say, “I’ve got you. Focus on getting better. I will handle the rest.”

Dogs, the Outdoors, and the Local Places I Love

Outside of work, my life revolves around dogs and family. I love getting outside for a change of scenery, whether that means the beach, a lake, or a weekend camping. One of my favorite routines is taking the dogs to the beach at night when it’s quiet, letting them chase little crabs, and occasionally catching a few shooting stars.

I love being out downtown for the food trucks during First Fridays and having a fun date night at the Pinball Palace. And if it is Saturday morning, there is a good chance I am at a thrift store. I use thrifting to furnish an Airbnb, and I love the hunt of finding the right piece at the right price.
