Raising a Glass to Veteran’s Month

One day isn’t enough to honor veterans for their commitment and service to our country. That’s why at Farah & Farah, we celebrate veterans for the entire month of November.

This year, we’ve brewed up something special with Veterans United Craft Brewery in Jacksonville, Florida. For every pour of their new “Alert 5 IPA”, Farah & Farah will donate $5 to the Five Star Veterans Center. The nonprofit, run by Colonel Len Loving, U.S.M.C., ret., aids veterans from across the region by providing safe housing and supportive services. “Alert 5” is named for a U.S. Navy readiness level in which a plane is ready to launch within just five minutes. Similarly, Five STAR Veterans Center is on standby, ready to help veterans in need.

We’ve worked very closely with the team at Five Star for years. The commitment and care Colonel Loving, his wife Suzie, and the rest of the staff show toward veterans deserves our respect and full support. 

Our fundraising efforts for Five Star and donation match campaigns began in 2018. Since then, we have raised and donated a combined total of $342,500. Farah & Farah has also donated a great deal of free media placements to help Five Star raise awareness of its services. 

As a result of our support, Five Star has reported the following: 

• 25% increase in first-time calls from homeless veterans seeking safe housing and supportive services. These veterans referenced learning of Five Star through a Farah & Farah commercial.
• Capacity increase by 10 veterans.
• A new dedicated case manager was brought on to help the veterans.
• Paws & Stripes, a rehabilitative program for vets & pets, launched in partnership with the Jacksonville Humane Society.
