Tamara Sonera

In five years, Tamara plans to have graduated from Florida State University as an Elementary Education major and beginning her career as an educator. Ideally, after college, she hopes to be working with children in the classroom and being a positive role model for children in her community. Tamara plans to continue her education in graduate school and establish a non-profit organization that promotes to dismantle education disparities and provide resources to aid children and families in low-income communities. In addition, to her career and advocacy goal, in five years she plans to be able to travel more often to be able to continue to learn from the world around her.

What the Empowering Greatness Scholarship Means to Tamara

I am so grateful to receive the “Empowering Greatness Scholarship” as it is allowing me to realize my full potential and the importance of always giving back to one’s community. This scholarship is allowing me to begin my education as a first-generation college student without worrying about substantial debt.
