A frightening story out of St. Augustine saw a man defending himself, his dog, and his young children from three pit bull dogs who were on the loose. The man was walking on Shallow Tail Lane Friday afternoon, November 4, and when he saw the dogs he picked up his four-year-old but couldn’t get to the two-year-old. Sensing the dog might harm his child he tells News4Jax that he kicked one dog and grabbed the other and choked it. The man says the dogs didn’t growl, they just walked up and attacked.
The man had a bloody hand and his dog had to have 30 stitches but is okay. The children were not harmed. Because the owner of the dogs was found, the person agreed to pay the veterinarian bill for the dog. No charges have been filed by the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office. Read the rest »
