Slip & Fall Case Result: Marie C.
When Marie hit the floor, she injured her knee and back.
Marie C. was at her local grocery store. The floor was wet. As soon as she hit the floor, she knew her injuries might be serious.
“I injured my knee and my back,” Marie said. “I went back to work, hoping my back would get better. It didn’t.” Being a custodian, her job required bending over, crawling, and reaching. Marie wasn’t able to perform those duties.
“My doctor recommended back surgery,” she said. Marie went through with the procedure. Then she had a second back surgery. “I was wondering how I was going to pay my bills,” she said.
When the insurance company suggested they might not pay, Marie called Farah & Farah.
“The insurance company called me,” Marie explained. “They said they were going to investigate who was at fault. I called Farah & Farah and explained my situation.”
Within three hours, Farah & Farah was knocking at Marie’s door. After connecting her with an attorney, Marie felt relieved.
“It was like a door had opened up,” she said. Her attorney immediately had her contact another physician who could treat and document her injuries. “I didn’t have to worry about [keeping up with] medical bills,” Marie said. “Everything was being handled.”
Marie’s attorney told her he was going to help. And he did.
Marie was instantly impressed with her attorney’s dedication to her case. “He said I know you’re used to a different lifestyle, and I’m going to help you get that back,” she said.
When the grocer’s insurance company denied that there was a problem with the store’s sprinkler system, Farah & Farah collected evidence to the contrary.
“My attorney stood his ground,” said Marie. “He got them to admit that the sprinkler system was clogged. He fought for me.”
“Farah & Farah treated me with so much respect and dignity,” she added. “There aren’t words to describe it.”
