Damages Available After a Brain Injury in Georgia
Simply put, a case is worth the amount of damages inflicted on you. These include past & future medical expenses, rehabilitation and disability costs, lost earnings and lost earning capacity.
Human damages can also be claimed but are more difficult to calculate. These include mental anguish, pain & suffering, loss of enjoyment of life and inconvenience.
In order to conclude what damages you’re entitled to, our attorneys at Farah & Farah will work with you to determine your possible maximum compensation. Levels of Brain Injury
All brain injuries are unique, and injuries depend on the type and amount of force of impact. Although they can affect different areas of the brain in separate ways, the levels of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) can be broken down into three categories.
Mild TBI occurs with little or no loss of consciousness. Mild TBI is diagnosed only when there is a change in mental status at the time of injury and is associated with patients being dazed or confused.
Moderate TBI is most common and occurs when an impact or violent shaking of the head produces a prolonged loss of consciousness. Physical, cognitive or behavioral impairments can last for months or are permanent.
Severe head injuries result from crushing blows or penetrating wounds. Because brain tissue is harmed with these type of injuries, they are the most life-threatening. Severe TBI requires hospitalization and extensive rehabilitation.
