Woman Dies After Crash With Disney Bus
A 63-year-old woman was killed after the car she was driving was rear-ended by a Disney Magical Express bus near Walt Disney World’s Epcot theme park.
Witnesses said that the car had stopped on the road for an unknown reason and that the bus was unable to stop in time. The police reported that the woman was taken to Celebration Health in Kissimmee and later died of her injuries.
The bus is a complimentary shuttle service that takes guests back and forth between the airport and the resort. According to The Florida News Journal, two passengers in the car were also taken to the hospital and were treated for minor injuries. Nobody on the bus reportedly was injured. All in all, the bus had been transporting 36 passengers to the park at the time of the crash
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the transportation company that runs the shuttle, Mears Transportation, is cooperating fully with the investigation. A spokeswoman for Disney said that, “We are saddened by today’s tragic accident and offer out heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the driver who passed away.”
