Man Killed in Fiery Crash on I-95
A 31-year-old man from North Carolina was traveling southbound on I-95 Friday night, July 15, when his pickup hit another vehicle, ran off the road and caught fire, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). Channel 4 reports the man from Snow Hill, N.C. was pronounced dead at the scene of the Florida car accident about two miles south of Old St. Augustine Road. A test for alcohol is pending and there is no word whether or not he was wearing a seat belt.
When his pickup hit the back of another southbound vehicle, both vehicles went sent onto the westbound shoulder of I-95. The driver of the second car and a 16-year-old passenger received minor injuries and were wearing seat belts.
Our condolences are extended to the friends and family of the man who died as a result of this collision.
While the cause of this crash is yet to be determined, the family members still must deal with the permanent loss of a loved one. The car accident attorneys in Gainesville at Farah & Farah continue to be amazed at the devastation that can happen in just one moment. Drivers need to be reminded to always wear a seat belt as it represents the single most effective lifesaving piece of equipment in any vehicle.
