Independent Living Foundation Fundraising Campaign Featuring $50,000 Matching Grant from Farah & Farah
The Independent Living Foundation (ILF) has announced its first fundraiser of 2016, “500 Founders”, which is seeking 500 donors of $100 each to match a $50,000 grant from the law firm of Farah & Farah. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Independent Living Resource Center of Northeast Florida (ILRC), whose mission is “to empower all people with a disability to live independent, self-empowered lives.”
The ILF was founded in 2001 to assist the funding of the ILRC, which provides assistance to the disabled by helping them find employment and providing them with equipment to accommodate their disability (wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, special phones for the hearing impaired, etc.). The ILRC is a completely nonprofit organization and relies on individual donors as well as donations by entities like Farah & Farah.
“We are excited about being able to make a difference for all those served by the Centers for Independent Living. Disability doesn’t matter until it affects you. We want those who have challenges to know that we care” said founding partner Eddie Farah.
His brother and partner, attorney Chuck Farah, added “Everyone wants to be able to pursue their own life. We know that the Centers for Independent Living make it possible for those with disabilities to achieve their life goals.”
