Bus Collides and Kills Traffic Engineer Fixing Light
It was a freak accident that killed a traffic engineer working over the streets of Jacksonville this week.
The man, 52-year-old Cesar Solomon was in a bucket working on a traffic light.
The driver of a Jacksonville Transportation Authority bus either didn’;t see the flag man or ignored him and struck the truck knocking the man out of the bucket and onto the street where he fell to his death.
People who work traffic lights say that people fly by them all the time and ignore the flagman. In this case, a flagman was unable to ge the attention of the bus driver.
An investigation will try to determine just who was at fault. Meanwhile the driver of the bus has been taken off duty and will be subject to a drug test.
