Breakfast with Champions and Step it Up Like The Stars
We at Farah & Farah are proud to be pillars of our community and believe in giving back to Jacksonville. It is in this spirit that we are excited to announce our firm’s participation in several events this coming Thursday, April 7th, sponsored by the I’m A Star Foundation. Our firm has been involved with the I’m A Star Foundation for many years now, and we fully support the organization’s goals of INSPIRING students to achieve excellence both inside and outside the classroom, MOTIVATING and helping students become solution-oriented adults, and EMPOWERING those students for global leadership opportunities in the future.
The upcoming event this year will coincide with United States Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy’s visit to our city and will focus on the growing problem of childhood obesity. The festivities will begin at 9 AM with a healthy “Breakfast With Champions” featuring a keynote speech by Dr. Murthy. At 12:30 PM, a Town Hall meeting will take place, involving more than 1000 students discussing the issue of childhood obesity and possible solutions to the problem, such as doing more to educate children on making healthy food choices. At 2:30 PM Surgeon General Murthy will lead students on 1.5 mile “Step It Up Like The Stars” walk to raise greater awareness of childhood obesity. After the walk, the events will culminate in a celebration featuring great music, fun “active” games, fresh produce, and much more!
