Onglyza Side Effect: Vision Issues

Diabetes Statistics

Research shows that one in eight Americans has type 2 diabetes, a serious, chronic disease that, if not treated, can lead to grave medical issues, including amputation, blindness, and premature death. One in eight Americans comes out to about 29 million people with type 2 diabetes in this country, and that number is growing every year. A more disturbing statistic is that approximately 8 million of those 29 million are not aware that they suffer from the type 2 diabetes and are therefore not seeking proper treatment for it.

Fortunately for diabetes sufferers, the last two decades or so have seen a rash of new type 2 diabetes medications being developed. While these medications do not cure the disease, along with diet and exercise they can help manage many of the symptoms. Unfortunately, many of these new medications come with serious, even deadly, side effects. One medication that has come under particular scrutiny for its side effects in recent years is Onglyza, which was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in July of 2009.

If you or a family member has suffered any adverse side effects as a result of being treated with Onglyza, you need to contact a pharmaceutical litigation lawyer. The law offices of Farah & Farah have made it our mission to defend the rights of injury victims for over 35 years.
